beautful fall colors at winery

Fall Colors in the Umpqua Valley

What better way to start the New Year by talking about Umpqua Valley wine.  For those who are shaking your heads asking where the heck is the UV, it’s a wine region in Oregon.  Closer to California than Washington, and a whole lot drier and warmer than Portland.

We grow a wide range of wine varietals, from Cabernet Sauvignon to Tempranillo to Syrah and yes, we do grow Pinot Noir.  In fact our region got the whole ball rolling here in Oregon! The HillCrest Vineyard was the very first post-prohibition winery in the state and is still open today.

I fyou’re looking for a wine district that’s not over run with limos and clueless tourist, then head for Roseburg, Oregon.  We are 3 hours south of Portland on I-5.
